Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
An evergreen branch of studies that has taking the mankind to the moon and computations by the nano seconds.
The Electronics and Communication department is housed in a separate wing with dedicated class rooms and well equipped laboratories. The department is headed by Prof. Vikramathithan, and mentored by Prof Y.Jayasimha with an experience of more than 30 years in R.V.C.E/RNSIT supported by well qualified Professor namely Dr K Narayan, PhD (IISC).
The department has well qualified and experienced faculty supported by technicians to train students. The laboratories of the department are at par with that of industry, especially in the areas of VLSI/embedded Systems. The department has six laboratories with an area of 600 sq mts. The faculty student ratio is maintained at 1:15.
The Department provides additional focus on specialized areas like robotics, embedded system application, and VLSI. Teaching here gives importance to thorough understanding and application of concepts of electronics.
The department is consistently achieving excellent results in VTU examinations and also offers In house projects, Technical seminars, Workshops in robotics and Technical training to prepare the students to the Industry requirements. The faculty are actively guiding the students for GATE, GRE and Defence service exams. Our Students have won three (I,II &II) prizes in the International project competitions in VELTECH University, Chennai during 2012 & 2013.Our Robotics team has won prizes in Robotics workshop competitions held in IIT Chennai during 2013 and IIT Delhi during 2014.
The Department has Research & Development Centre which encourages the teachers and students to engage in R & D activities and also to do projects at the centre itself.
The students who pursue the course of Electronics and Communication will have career options in Semi Conductors, medical instruments, hardware and software industry, Defence and Aviation sectors.
