The department has established a strong and consistent research culture, reflected in its significant scholarly output and active academic engagement. Faculty members and students have collectively published over 350+ research papers in Scopus-indexed, peer-reviewed international journals and UGC CARE journals, with several publications receiving recognition for innovation and impact. There is a steady year-on-year increase in research publications, supported by research-oriented learning practices. Faculty and students actively participate in national and international conferences, presenting research findings and earning multiple Best Paper Awards. The department continuously motivates students to showcase their work through paper presentations, poster sessions, technical symposiums, and academic events.
Innovation and funded research form a key pillar of the department’s academic framework. Faculty members have published 15+ patents in emerging areas, with additional patent applications underway in domains such as AI, IoT, renewable energy, healthcare systems, and automation. The department has secured funding from reputed agencies including VGST and KSCST, with several student projects receiving financial support for prototype development. It is also recognized as a Research Centre by the affiliating university, offering Ph.D. programs with four approved research supervisors, three awarded Ph.D. scholars, and four ongoing doctoral researchers. Further strengthening its research ecosystem, the department has received ₹3.5 lakh under the AICTE-ATAL FDP, organized regular workshops, FDPs, SDPs, and industry interaction programs, and continues to emerge as a centre of excellence in research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
