A One – day Industrial Visit was organized by “Sai Vidya Institute of Technology with prior permission from Hon Director Prof M R Holla and our principal Dr. H S Ramesh Babu on 27th February 2020 to “Bata India Limited, Peenya, Bengaluru.

 

The visit was planned for the students of MBA-Semester 4 accompanied by Prof. Sumathy VMS.

 

The bus left the college Campus by 8:45 am with a total of 52 students. The group reached the plant by 10.45 am. After giving a briefing of the rules and guidelines to be followed, the students were taken to the training Hall. Mr.Sivakumar HR Executive at the plant gave a brief presentation about the history of Bata India limited, multinational footwear as the parent company is in Switzerland. As the plant at Peenya was running demand-based production system from Corporate office. This plant produces kids and girl footwear collection using Reverse Injection Process.  The head office is at New Delhi and big plant is at BATA nagar at Kolkatta. Following the presentation, Mr. Sivakumar interacted with the students and answered their queries regarding Bata India ltd and explains different design of bata products producing in their company. The students were taken to the Training Hall and provided Tea with biscuits and enjoyed having it.

 

The industrial visit to Bata India Limited at Peenya was an enriching experience for students who got to understand the entire process of Bata Shoes and how a Mega-plant works to maintain its large outputs of ten thousands of bata shoes per day. On a whole, it was an exemplary learning experience that the students will savour for a long time to come.
