Department Of Information Science And Engineering
Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) started its course of journey of four year B.E course in the year 2008-09 with an intake of 60 students. From 2022-23 the intake is increased to 120 students.
The department of ISE is headed by Dr. Vrinda Shetty, having vast experience in academic & research work. The department prepares its students to become responsible professionals who are strong in the fundamentals of Information Science and Engineering.
The branch has an excellent team of young, dynamic & dedicated faculty members who are highly qualified with rich & vast experience in teaching & industry. The faculty are involved in proctoring, research, conduction co-curricular activities like seminars, workshops & conferences apart from regular teaching. The faculties use the latest teaching aids like PowerPoint Presentations, OHP stc. for effective teaching.
The department encourages its faculty and students to interact with the outside world through student internship, workshops, seminars, paper presentation, faculty consultancy, faculty development programmes, industry collaboration and association with professional societies. The department equips its students with entrepreneurial problem solving techniques with more emphasis on ethical practices, inclusive societal concerns and environment. The department also emphasis on team work through inter-disciplinary projects, co-curricular and social activities.

Program Outcomes (POs)
POs are Statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do upon graduating from the program. These relate to the skills, knowledge, analytical ability, attitude and behavior that students acquire through the program.
PO 1 :
Engineering Knowledge - Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO 2 :
Problem Analysis - Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO 3 :
Design/Development of Solutions - Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO 4 :
Conduct Investigation of complex problems - Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern Tool Usage - Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

Department forum day “Techmania” was organized on 29th October 2018. It was one day technical event which consist of innovative and technical game. Events Like You Murderer, Search – It, Gaming, Blind Coding, Tech Quiz, Tech Dumb chards, Crossword Puzzle was conducted.

Two day workshop on “Internet of Things” was conducted for 6th semester ISE students during 13th and 14th February 2019. The main focus of this workshop is to train the students in the field of Internet of Things through a practical approach using Arduino.

5-day workshop on ―Object oriented Programming with C++‖ was conducted during 4 th Feb 2019 to 8th Feb 2019. There were both theory and lab sessions. Students were exposed to case studies which enhanced their programming skills. There was also online test at the end of the session.

As a part of department forum activity and FSMK, Every Monday students were tr ained in the latest Technology tools like MIT App Inventor, Web development, SSH, Docker. Group of technically skilled students are conducting these trainings.
