Sai Vidya Institute of technology (SVIT) conducted a two weeks bridge course from 08.11.2021 – 20.11.2021 in offline mode before the commencement of regular classes. The main objective of the course is to bridge the gap between subjects studied at Pre-university level and subjects they would be studying in engineering. Bridge Course will help the students to have a smooth transition to the Engineering courses. The Bridge Courses also focus on the pupil with different learning abilities, academic standards and performances.

Objective:

The main objective of this course is to brush up the fundamental knowledge of the students and prepare them for four year engineering course. Interactive and Active Learning by doing have been weaved into the Bridge Course.

Methodology

• Action plan of the bridge course is prepared well in advance by the senior faculty and get it approved by respective HOD.
• Power point presentation, chalk and talk methods have been adopted for the theory subjects.
• Hands on training and interactive sessions are conducted for laboratory sessions.

Outcome:

As per the results of the quiz conducted for each subject at the end of bridge course, it is evident that most of the students who attended the bridge course classes have gained the knowledge and skills of basic concepts of engineering and science subjects. An on average of 75% of marks scored by students.
