Report on the Guest Lecture “Latest Trends in Automotive Engineering and Applications”

Department of Mechanical Engineering had organized a guest lecture on Latest trends in Automotive Engineering and Applications for students of Mechanical Engineering and faculty.  The Speaker for the lecture was Mr. Sridhara Ramakrishna, who is presently working with Federal Mogul Corporation as General Manager, Application Engineering based at Bangalore that has specialized in Piston and Piston Rings of IC Engines. Mr. Sridhara Ramakrishna has been in the industry for the past 24 years working exclusively in manufacturing and Product Engineering.

 

Prof. Rajneesh M K , In charge HOD , Mech Dept Felicitated the speaker and  Prof.Vijaya B, Associate professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering   Introduced the Speaker Mr. Sridhara Ramakrishna to the audience.

 

In his lecture Mr. Sridhara Ramakrishna discussed current trend and challenges related to automotive, aircraft, and industrial applications. He also introduced the participants to some case projects and challenges in introducing the Euro-VI Emission Norms targeted for 2020 as envisioned by the Honorable Prime Minister under Swatch Bharath Abhiyaan in the automotive industry. Processes that are currently being used for manufacturing piston and rings were explained in the lecture. He shared his own experiences on meeting customers and evaluation of supply demand requirements in the current scenario.
