Training | Academic Year - 2017-18 | 08 Aug, 2020
Department of Information Science & Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering Organized one week internship for 5th and 7th semester students at BSNL Regional Telecommunication Training Center (RTTC), Mysuru from 22/01/2018 to 27/01/2018. The main focus of this internship is to train the students from industry perspective and create industry academic interaction. Totally 81 students and 4 faculties participated in the internship program. For all the students and faculties accomadation was provided in the RTTC hostels. On the first day of internship principal of BSNL RTTC, Mr Balasubramanya K, Welcomed our students and conveyed the importance of the internship.
Following topics were covered as a part of internship:
- Basic concepts and components of data communication
- OSI reference model
- TCP / IP Protocol suit
- Lab sessions on network components
- IP Addressing – IPV 4
- LAN Connectivity – Demo and practice
- Study of VLAN – theory with practice.
- Principles of routing and routing protocols with extensive hands on session
- DNS – theory, demo and practice
- HTTP and FTP – theory, demo and practice
- DHCP – theory, demo and practice
- Proxy Server - theory, demo and practice
- Firewall and PROLANNET
- IPV6 Theory
- Information and Cyber Security
Students were provided with hands on session on routing protocols and application layer protocols. Also students visited bandwidth lab.
