SVIT Receives Prestigious IEEE Photonics International Award of 4000 USD
Management, Principal and Dean (R&D) congratulate Ms. Priyanga R and Mr. Sharath K Prabhu, of Department of ECE, for bagging the prestigious 2018 IEEE Photonics Conference Student & Young Professionals/Women in Photonics Travel Grant of 2000 USD each. This travel grant is given towards travel, registration fees, and accommodation for 31st Annual Conference of IEEE Photonics Society to be held at Reston, VA USA 30th September to 4th October 2018. This award was given based on Institute and student’s commitment, active involvement and contribution to larger photonics community. In addition to technical work, a willingness to commit and a desire to contribute to the community are key attributes that were considered by IEEE Photonics Society before awarding. Only fifty awardees were chosen throughout the globe. India has received five awards, one each for IIT Bombay, IISc, Bangalore, and University of Calcutta. Sai Vidya Institute of Technology is the only institute to have bagged two awards totaling 4000 USD. This has been possible due to active efforts of Dr. Narayan .K. PhD (IISc) Dean (R&D) and Head, Department of ECE.
